Gatherers

Is this you?

As a Gatherer, it’s only natural to champion the cause of great things you come across, like products, services, ideas, and even other people. Once you’re sold on something, you want everyone else to experience the same thing, and by telling others you automatically gather people together.

Influence is another trait of gatherers. You like to see others around you influenced by the same things that influence you. Because of your enthusiasm for what influences you, it’s easy for your friends to turn to you as the resident expert for the best places to eat, shop, and spend your free time. Not everyone gets as excited about your influence, but it’s not like you’re trying hard. Being a gatherer is just what you do.

You were created to be a gatherer. Your influence on people is good and something God has given you. The Bible calls this ability “evangelistic.” Because of you, people come together, and because of you they can receive some good things they may not receive anywhere else.

All along, that driving force that leads your desire to gather and influence is from God. It’s a God-given gift you’ve been using all your life, and there’s more to it. While we use our gifts in everyday life, God’s purpose is for us to use them for him, and there’s nothing more fulfilling.

Consider this—if God created you with a gift that drives your motivations, and if that gift is ultimately meant for use in the work God is doing around you, this means two things—
1. Using your gift in the work God is doing around you is the most fulfilling experience you can have because it means doing what you were created to do and….
2. Using your gift in the work God is doing around you is easy because it’s what comes natural for you anyway.

There aren’t any special requirements or hoops to jump through to begin to use your apostolic gift for God. In fact, it’s something you just start doing as you learn and grow……
